…a follow up review. After putting 500 rounds through this gun now, I am thoroughly impressed! I had one magazine jam early on which did result in losing the mag. That has been my only problem! Solid construction, plenty of power, smooth two-stage trigger and a great scope on top, you definitely get your money’s worth! Likes a heavier pellet, suggest 10.5 gr at least. Great job on this repeating nailer!!

My magfire ultra came out of the box shooting quarter size groupes at 30 ft. Not bad.. love the 12 shot mag. Good job guys.

The air rifle itself is very nice. However, the scope mounting is a frustrating experience since it does not adjust enough for zero and requires either scope shims or adjustable mounts, which are expensive.

Recently got back into air gunning. I purchased a Gamo Swarm 10X years ago. Liked the idea of the multishot break barrels. Wanted to try other makes and models. First bought a Uremax Synergis. Liked the magazines but rifle is just plain to muzzle heavy, more of a target rifle. I purchased the Crosman for the sling mounts and slightly lighter weight.
Onto the review of the Mag Fire. I purchased this in .22 Caliber. I like the iron rear sight, but front is plastic, not the most robust looking sight blade. Loading the magazine was easier than the Gamo gen 1 magazine, you just need to hold your finger at the bottom of the slots when loading, some pellets slip all the way through, but otherwise seems nice. Only three things I have found that are issues with this rifle. The stock forearm is a little thick towards the muzzle end. I’m not sure why it needed widened at that particular spot. The rest of the stock is slim. The front sling swivel sometimes gets pinched when cocking the barrel and won’t allow the barrel to pivot all the way down to fully cock the rifle. If you have a sling mounted the weight of the sling might keep the swivel pulled down and may not interfere anymore. The last problem is the weight. If this rifle was 1.5 to 2 lbs lighter it would be an awesome rifle. I ended going back to Gamo and purchasing a swarm magnum gen 2. It has iron sights and weighs over 2lbs lighter. Not a problem when bench shooting but sure is nice when carrying for hunting. Overall I think it is a very nice rifle, actually feels nicer than a Gamo, but the weight is the real issue.

Crosman exceeded my expectations with simple improvements to the Mag-Fire Ultra pellet rifle w/ 3-9×40 scope. I was initially concerned about several aspect of the rifle weight, material, break barrel, magazine, etc. After contacting customer service for assistance selecting a rifle that fit my needs, all concerns were answered. The basic platform is excellent and can be modified with added precision for more experienced shooters.
Crosman stands behind the product because I contacted them with a small issue, and they immediately provided a possible reason for the issue and resolved the issue.
